Hot Water Heaters

The Plumber is your hot water heater expert in Kansas City. Our experienced plumbers can install a new water heater (either as a replacement or as an additional unit) whenever the time is right.
Most people rarely think about servicing or replacing a water heater. They heat our water for our showers, baths, sinks, dishwashers, but few people actually know that a water heater requires regular service and maintenance just like any other major appliance in the house.
Did you know? The average life expectancy of a typical home water heater is only 13 years.
The Plumber installs and services all types of water heaters in both residential and commercial settings. We’re also the qualified service professionals to call when your current hot water heater needs a routine check-up and servicing.
Some of our recommended water heater brands include: A.O. Smith, Bradford White, and State water heaters.
Our tankless water heater brands include: Eternal, Noritz, and Navien.
Tips for getting the most out of your existing hot water heater:
- Make sure your water heater is insulated for a huge energy savings! You can usually find pre-cut water heater jackets (or blankets) at the hardware store. If you’re uncomfortable with adding the insulation yourself, The Plumber is always available to help. If your current water heater has a tag on the tank that reads ASHRAE/IES rating of 90, then no additional insulation is recommended.
- To keep your water heater maintained and avoid a build-up of corrosive material inside the tank, drain out the sediment that typically accumulates at the base of the water heater every 6 months.
Note: Always approach your water heater with extreme caution. Due to the average 135-degree temperature of the water inside the tank, there is a risk of scalding when draining.
About tankless or instant water heaters:
Instant hot water heaters (sometimes called tankless water heaters) can be a real money saver, in that they only heat the water that you’re using. Instant water heaters are typically very compact and easily fit into tight areas. When no water is being used (at night or when you’re out of the home), the instant water heater is off and uses no energy. The tankless water heater movement is strong in Europe and Japan and is just catching on here in the USA. If you’re interested in a tankless water heater system, the staff members at The Plumber are available to answer your questions.
